LES Arts & Culture Open House

Join AAI’s Director on Sunday, October 23 from 2-5p at Cuchifritos Gallery to learn more about KIOSK, a group exhibition curated by Guíllermo Rodriguez.

Conjuring Cuchifritos Gallery’s material history and placement inside of a public food market, KIOSK draws on familiar as well as abstract associations of the marketplace, re-veiling it as a place of mystery and wonder. Blending the lines between mental and material environments, the works in KIOSK trace parallels between La Placita in Santurce, Puerto Rico and Essex Market in Manhattan, exploring notions of memory, indulgence, and joy.
