As we confronted the immense upheaval caused by the pandemic—challenges to our concept of borders, disruption of civic life, failure of leadership, devastation of our truly vulnerable communities, confrontation of our visible and invisible systems—we turned to our community of alumni with a simple request: what might be the larger (perhaps less overt) implications of this era of crisis?
From May through September, on AAI’s Instagram, we posted their reflections of shared humanity, of reimagining, of remembrance, of release, of healing, and of truth. With this project, we intend to offer you, our community, a new lens through which we can understand this period of confinement and isolation.
